Bullitt aiming high in Utah debut

Muscle Milk Team CytoSport will be back on track this weekend with driver Mark Bullitt at the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix rounds of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama.

After promising opening rounds at Sebring over a month ago, where Bullitt took a couple of fourth place finishes, the team is looking forward to returning to action and continuing what they started at the first two races, this time, with the hopes of a podium finish, or two, in mind.

However, with the high level of competition in the GT3 Cup Challenge it won't be an easy task. A total of 33 entries will be taking part in the two 45-minute races, including 25 cars in Bullitt's Platinum class.

The driver of the #6 Muscle Milk Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car will have the added challenge this weekend of learning the 3.048-mile, 15-turn road course, as he will be making his debut at Miller Motorsports Park. However, the Muscle Milk team is familiar with the circuit having raced there for the first time, and placing third, last season in the American Le Mans Series.

Bullitt will have three 40-minute test sessions on Thursday, April 28 before official practice gets underway at Miller Motorsports Park on Friday with two practice sessions and a 30-minute qualifying session.

Race #1 at the Utah Grand Prix goes green on Saturday, April 30 at 12:30 pm Mountain Time with Race #2 taking place Sunday at 12:45 pm. Live timing and scoring will be available throughout the weekend at imsachallenge.com.

MUSCLE MILK QUOTES

IMSA GT3 CUP CHALLENGE BY YOKOHAMA DRIVER:

Mark Bullitt, driver #6 Muscle Milk Porsche 911 GT3 Challenge Cup car

"After having a good weekend in Sebring at the season opener, I'm happy to be back behind the wheel of the Muscle Milk Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car this weekend."I haven't driven at Miller Motorsports Park before, so I'll likely need a few laps to figure out the track. But we had some good track time during the Sebring race week so dialing in the car should be pretty straightforward. Plus, the Muscle Milk team has been there before, so as a team we have race experience at Miller."Once again, the competition will be tough and the racing will be close and that is what makes it fun. We definitely had the speed in Sebring to run for a podium finish and that is also our goal for this weekend in Utah."
