Stunning Form for Adam Lyon and Aye Gee Suzuki

It was another mixed weekend for the Aye Gee Suzuki team at round two of the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship at the scenic Oulton Park. The two riders Josh Wainwright and Adam Lyon suffered their fair share of problems throughout the weekend and were unable to get a good qualifying time in for the 14-lap race. Josh was unfortunate to crash out of the race on the opening lap and Adam gained a fantastic sixth place.

Josh despite his valiant effort was only able to put the Aye Gee Suzuki in 29th place on the grid and after gaining a good start for the race he was hit from the side into the first corner putting a sudden end to his race. A disappointed Josh said "I'm gutted because I got an awesome start and already made up some places into the first corner but then someone came right across the front of me and took my front end and that was me race done. I'm just gutted as I've had two bad weekends now and hopefully things will turn around at Croft."

Adam Lyon turned his weekend around after an unexplained puncture during practice and an electrical problem during qualifying set the young Scotsman on the back foot and he could only manage 24th place in qualifying. Despite this set back he was determined to pull in a good result in the 14-lap race and that he did. A great start saw him lying in 16th place after the first lap, the race was action packed and full of incidents, which thankfully Adam managed to avoid. Passing riders every lap the youngster rode a stunning and mature race to take another handful of points in the Championship and improvement on his result from Brands Hatch.

Adam said "It's just such a shame I wasn't able to qualify higher up on the grid as if that was the case then I would have been able to run with the front runners. It's just been a nightmare during qualifying at the last few races and it's very frustrating as I know I could try and give them a good run for their money, it's just really annoying. I knew I had my work cut out once again and I knew I would really have to knuckle down and try and stay on and make as many passes as I could. It was a very hard race but I'm really pleased with sixth place, I avoided some crashes thankfully but just hope we can put the full package together for Croft in a few weeks time. I know it's there but we just need to prove it. I'd like to thank my personal sponsor onlinetropies.com for all their help so far this season."
