REBELLION Racing has to announced that Mathias BECHE has been nominated as the team’s reserve driver for this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours race. The 24 years old Swiss driver is not scheduled to race for REBELLION Racing this year, but will be on standby in case any of its previously announced Le Mans drivers is sidelined.
Mathias BECHE is driving an LMP2 for TDS Racing in this year’s Le Mans Series, he was LMP2 polesitter at the Le Castellet LMS opening round.
The team has been watching Mathias’ career since he had a one day test with REBELLION Racing in the winter of 2009 when he drove the team’s Lola-Judd LMP2 at Estoril after he had finished second in the LMS Formula Le Mans championship that year.
Mathias BECHE commented : “I am very pleased to have been chosen by REBELLION Racing to be their reserve driver for Le Mans 24 Hours. As a Swiss driver I am very proud that a Swiss first class team as REBELLION Racing have placed their trust in me.
I chose a career in endurance racing and this appointment is another step forward to the LMP1 class which is my goal after proving my skills in Formula Le Mans and in LMP2. »
