Jamie Campbell-Walter and David Brabham scored Sumo Power's first podiums of the season this weekend, when they finished third in Saturday's Qualifying Race - and then did it again in Sunday's Championship Race - at round three of the FIA GT1 World Championship in Portugal.
Team-mates Ricardo Zonta and Enrique Bernoldi qualified well and started the first race from second on the grid, but a hit from behind in turn-one spun them down to eighth. This meant that in the championship race they started P13 - after adding on the five grid-position penalty imposed after the start-line shunt at Zolder. This made for some great racing, as the boys battled their way up to a deserved seventh place.
The Sumo Power GT trucks are now flat out on the road to Germany, for next weekend's fourth round of the FIA GT1 World Championship at the Sachsenring, near Chemnitz. It's the first time the series has visited this circuit and will be the first time that many of the drivers, including all four of our boys, will have driven the 3.7km track.
Fingers crossed!
