Hylkema Aims To Maintain Unbeaten Run At Snetterton

Runaway points leader of the Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series 'Rookie Class', Bart Hylkema, is focused on extending his unbeaten run of six straight victories when the championship resumes at Snetterton 300 Circuit in the east of England next weekend, 14th/15th May. Just under two weeks ago at Oulton Park in Cheshire, the 21-year-old dominated proceedings at the wheel of his T-Sport engineered Dallara Mugen-Honda as he did at Monza in Italy during the opening event of 2011.  Heading into rounds seven, eight and nine, the Dutch racer is 58 points clear of Japanese driver Kotaro Sakurai and although the recently revised Snetterton 300 Circuit will provide another fresh challenge Bart is confident of a successful weekend. "I'm really looking forward to Snetterton, we've had a great start to the season and things couldn't have gone much better to be honest", he commented, "Next weekend will bring another new track for me to get to grips with but I'm sure we'll be up-to-speed pretty quickly. "Of course I want to try and take all three class wins again but the bigger goal is to get as close as possible to the A Class cars to mix it with those guys. With a bit more experience and more time in the car I'm confident we can get there - and hopefully that can begin at Snetterton." Although having taken all six Rookie Class victories so far, Bart is only able to count five of them in his points total. This stems back to round one at Monza where Sakurai made contact with the rear of the Delft-based driver's car. Requiring a lengthy pit-stop to rectify the damage, Bart returned to the track to take the win but his completed race distance was deemed insufficient to score by officials. Even so, the Geothex, TORO, Club Car, Ditch Witch and Annika Schultz Communications backed racer's record in 2011 speaks for itself. So far in his debut year in F3, Bart has impressed with his pace and application and he'll be looking to make even bigger strides forward as the season rolls on. Pre-event testing at Snetterton 300 will take place next Friday, 13th May, ahead of qualifying and the first race of the weekend, round seven, on Saturday, 14th May, at 10.40 and 14.55 respectively. On Sunday, 15th May, round eight will get underway at 10.55 with round nine following at 16.15. Provisional 2011 Cooper Tires British F3 International Series 'Rookie Class' Standings (after Rd6): 1st Bart Hylkema, 88pts
