Round 4: Jim Clark Reivers Rally, 3 June

Three-times event runner-up Euan Thorburn shook off the "bridesmaid” mantle to take his first Jim Clark Reivers Rally victory, spurred on by his hometown supporters.

Co-driven by Paul Beaton, Thorburn powered his Ford Focus WRC through the five Reivers' stages in a total time of 43 minutes and 27.9 seconds.  Mike Faulkner and Peter Foy secured second spot, a further 1m19s back, just ahead of Barry Groundwater and Mike Dickson, who took the final podium place.

Defending champion David Bogie – to whom Thorburn had finished second on the Reivers for the past three years – saw his hopes of a fourth straight victory evaporate on the first stage when the gearbox failed on his MG Metro 6R4.
