Rideoffroaduk are preparing to fire back into a busy event schedule with round 7 of the IOPD Doodson Championship on June 24th at the superb Norwood Teversal venue.
After a five week break from events and with entries already coming in thick and fast, the fully graded, immaculately prepared Norwood venue is in great shape and ready to host Round 7 of the 2012 Championship. The Norwood Teversal venue is truly iconic and is genuinely steeped with off road history. During the 60s and 70s this woodland track hosted some of the finest TV televised scramble races on record, top names like Terry Silvester, Malcolm Rathmell, Arthur Lampkin, Andy Roberton, John Banks and Norman Crooks all took part in the epic bar banging clashes which used to be screened when the football was cancelled!
With a course already planned, Wayne Braybrook plans to surprise competitors with a new track plan which will be more flowing and enjoyable to ride across all ability levels.
Camping is available from Friday afternoon ready for the Saturday Enduro training session which starts at 1pm. Pre booking is essential; these structured training days are restricted to smaller numbers allowing Wayne plenty of time to coach each rider who attends.
Sunday morning will see youth riders on track for a 90 minute event; this will be followed by the first adult event catering for Sportsman, Beginners, Over50 and Ladies in a 2 hour event. After a short break for lunch and morning events presentations, at approx 1.30pm it will be the turn of the Expert, Over40 and Clubman riders to battle it out on a slightly modified track for 2.5 hours, this will see some added technical sections to suit the more experienced riders.
We ask that where possible riders travel together in 1 vehicle as the paddock parking at Norwood is limited during well attended events. Access is only available from Friday for weekend camping, Access gates will be locked each night.
