for Pirelli World Challenge Doubleheader
GTSport Racing/Napleton Porsche Team Set To Keep On the Podium Pace for Hot Wheels®, InvoicePrep, Voodoo Ride and StopTech in Only 2012 Canadian RoundFresh off of the team’s third podium finish of the season one race ago in Detroit, Jack Baldwin and Team Hot Wheels™ are “North of the Border” at Mosport Park this weekend with the No. 68 Hot Wheels®/GTSport Racing/Napleton Porsche Cayman S for Rounds 8 and 9 of the 2012 Pirelli World Challenge Championships.Baldwin finished second in the final race of a doubleheader weekend at the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix earlier this month for his third podium finish of the season in the Hot Wheels® Cayman S. Baldwin’s other 2012 podium appearances include a breakout Long Beach victory in April and second at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last month. He also brings a five-race streak of top-four finishes to Mosport and the No. 68 Cayman S has finished out of the top-five just once this season and that was the very first race of the year at St. Petersburg in March.“As we head up to Mosport for the first time since the great Trans-Am days about 18 years ago, I am hoping for some good results,” Baldwin said. “But once again I have a new 155 lbs. rewards weight friend riding with me for the good job we did at Detroit. The last time I was in Mosport it was the original track filled with thrilling turns and danger. Today it is basically the same layout but the track has been improved to make it much safer and nicer.”
Baldwin and Team Hot Wheels™ run in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS class that has seen Mustangs, Camaros and Acuras all win races this year, in addition to the Hot Wheels® Cayman S.“I believe our biggest challenge will come from the Mustangs as they have been given a huge performance gain that we will have a tough time dealing with,” Baldwin said. “But as always, I will get up on the wheel of the Team Hot Wheels™, Invoice Prep, Voodoo Ride, Napleton Porsche Cayman S and give it everything I've got to get to the front.”
This weekend’s Mosport event is the second doubleheader in a row for the series following Detroit and third this year after two races opened the season in St. Petersburg. Saturday’s race goes off at 1:15 p.m. EDT while Sunday’s finale is scheduled to start at 2:45 p.m. EDT.
