Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship

Round 5: Oulton Park, 23 June

Martin Byford took a well-planned victory in the Bullrun Lotus Evora at Oulton Park, having driven the entire endurance race by himself.

Having always been in contention due to a canny strategy, Class 3 runner Byford assumed the lead when the front-running Class 1 Mosler of Morcillo, Cintrano and White, and the Bailey/Schulz Ferrari suffered mid-race problems.

Second overall and heading Class 2 was Topcats team boss Warren Gilbert after an amazing solo drive in the team’s Marcos Mantis, while third place went to the Tracktorque Chevron GR8 of Tommy Field and Chris Hart. Meanwhile the reliable Motionsport Lotus Elise of Gary Coulson and Ben Gower came through to take Class 4 honours.
