SUPERSTARS: A SPECTACULAR CHALLENGE
The SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES is approaching its fifth round of 2012 and is definitely looking forward to find its sixth race winner this season. Drivers from Audi, Chevrolet, Jaguar and Mercedes shared honours so far. Standing as the championship leader is 23-year-old Swede Johan Kristoffersson, who cruised to win twice at Imola aboard his Audi RS5 racecar. Team BMW Dinamic man Thomas Biagi is not too far behind and determined to score his first win of the season after three podium finishes and the pole position taken at Mugello. The last round of the series also featured two first-time winners, Andrea Larini, on the Team Romeo Ferraris Mercedes, and Francesco Sini, who brought Chevrolet its first win since 2010. On another 4-wheel drive Audi, Gianni Morbidelli is looking forward to reverse his Italian fortunes and cruise back to win after dominating at Donington Park. The same will go for Max Pigoli, who scored a stunning win at Monza on his Jaguar, and Vitantonio Liuzzi, who won Race 2 in the 2012 opener and is currently standing in third with his manufacturer-supported Mercedes C63 AMG prepared by CAAL Racing.
KLIEN, MICHELISZ SET FOR SUPERSTARS DEBUT
In addition to Liuzzi and Morbidelli, more former Formula 1 power will come from Christian Klien, lining-up on one of the two Swiss Team-prepared Maserati Quattroporte racers, while touring car ace Norbert Michelisz will join him on the Team Giudici BMW. After having won a WTCC race at his home track, he will go for a spectacular double. Two new entries will also be Franco Fumi, the runner-up in last season's Seat León Supercopa, lining-up for Team BMW Dinamic, and Domenico Ferlito, who will be behind the wheel of the second Jaguar XFR.
EVERYBODY AGAINST FERRARI IN GTSPRINT
The competition in GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES will not be easier by any means. The championship is lining-up for its fourth round out of seven this year with Andrea Palma leading the overall charts on the Black Team Ferrari 458 Italia. His main rival in the GTS2 class will be Glauco Solieri, returning on an Autorlando-prepared Porsche 997. In GTS3, the Ferrari brand will be targeted by the Corvette of Benedetti-Del Castello. Their main target will be the Ombra Racing Team Ferrari 458 of Mario Cordoni.
GTS CUP TROPHY
The GTS Cup Trophy is also about to go underway in Hungary after having celebrated a new championship leader at Mugello. Back in Italy, Vittorio Bagnasco cruised to victory with his HappyRacer-prepared Porsche 997. Several challengers will be coming to stop him starting with Colombian Steven Goldstein, lined-up on another Porsche 997 by GDL Racing. More Ferraris are set to join the game with Bernasconi-Casè (Scuderia Baldini 27 Network) and Bocellari-Delli Guanti (Kessel Racing).
