Anthony Reid and Chevron GT3 King of the Hill at Goodwood

- Chevron GT3’s maiden Festival of Speed and ‘shoot-out’ win

Former BTCC and Le Mans star Anthony Reid was ‘King of the Hill’ at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, after setting the fastest time on Sunday (01 July) in the new Chevron GT3.

More than 45 cars were competing to make it into the top 20 ‘shoot-out’ finale, and a determined Reid unleashed the potential of his Chevron GT3 up the hillclimb course, finishing in a staggering 46.46 seconds on his final and winning run.

The Scot reached 131mph in the GT3 racer to lead the ‘shoot-out’, and made it a memorable weekend for Chevron Racing.

Current British GT Championship driver Anthony Reid commented;“That run took total commitment. Ahead of the weekend we were confident we could finish in the top ten, but to actually claim the top spot at Goodwood in the hillclimb is a fantastic honour. I can’t believe it – the whole weekend couldn’t have gone any better.

“I had three runs in total, the first in the wet and the second in not so good conditions, so for the final run I just had to go all out. I didn’t actually clip the car, but in all honesty you couldn’t have got a cigarette paper between the Chevron and the flint wall!

“I was blown away by the Chevron GT3 and the speed it gave me, so many thanks and congratulations to Chevron Racing.”

‘Young Gun’ Jordan Witt shared the driving of the Chevron GT3 with Anthony Reid over the weekend, and during the event showed his delight of debuting at the Goodwood Festival of Speed by saying; “It feels like Christmas.”
