Rainy Friday for Facu Regalia in the GP3‏

During his first official outing with Dallara-Renault lined-up by Jenzer Motorsport at Silverstone Regalia had to overcome heavy rain during yesterday´s free practice session. Regalia, with a best lap of 2:17.848, was second fastest among Jenzer Motorsport drivers.

Heavy rain made even more difficult his adaptation period to both a new car and a track where he hasn´t competed last two years. In spite of these problems, Regalia managed to finish 17th fastest among almost thirty drivers, setting a best lap of 2:17.488 after seventeen laps completed.

“It has been a very difficult day, because there was a lot of water and aquaplaning and it was very easy to make a mistake. My main concern was to avoid errors and put as much experience as possible under my belt. At the beginning, I was into top-ten places ahead of my teammates Patric Niederhauser, who has already won this year, and Robert Visoiu”, Regalia explained afterwards. Regalia, who is backed by former Formula 1 driver Adrián Campos, adds that “at the end we couldn´t improve our lap times in the same way several drivers achieved. Jenzer Motorsport adjusted Niederhauser´s car tires pressures but they didn´t work. Pirelli has developed a new compound of tire and they demand less pressure. Finally he managed to improve to be 4th at the end but we didn´t have enough time to test as well. Anyway, I feel confident for tomorrow´s qualifying session if it´s another rainy day”.
