Mondo to supply MotoGP for three years

Dorna Sports, the commercial rights holder of the MotoGP world championship, has signed a three-year deal with sports floor and seating manufacturer Mondo.

The agreement will see Mondo become the 'circuit equipment services provider for the 2012, 2013 and 2014 MotoGP seasons.

Mondo flooring will be fitted in Dorna's on-track offices, as well as in the first pit-box, which is used for scrutineering, as well as the company's Venelli brand of seating.

Assen, Mugello, Sachsenring, and Sepang, tracks which all host MotoGP events, already have Venelli seating installed.

Italian company Mondo has a relationship with Dorna that dates back to 2009, when it installed artificial turf at the run-off areas at the Jerez MotoGP circuit.

"I'm really happy that a premier class racing series like MotoGP has partnered with Mondo, also leader in its sector," explained Dorna's commercial managing director Pau Serracanta. "Mondo is a company that has always been linked to major sporting events like the Olympics, which is proof of its experience and expertise to handle such occasions on a large scale. I am fully convinced that the B2B opportunities offered by this agreement will be very fruitful in the future."

"Having become circuit equipment services providers of MotoGP is a good omen," mused Mondo's president Maurizio Stroppiana, "as it means our floors are becoming increasingly popular in different areas and not only in athletics, where we have been the leading supplier for the last ten Olympics."
