Andrea Palma scores dominant GT Sprint win at Spa

GIANFRANCO BOCELLARI CRUISES TO GTS CUP HONOURS

Andrea Palma took a commanding win in Race 1 of the GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES at Spa-Francorchamps. The Rome-based racer, driving a Ferrari 458 GTS2 for Black Team, led from start to finish in tough weather conditions to hit his 8th win of the season. Finnish youngster Antti Buri, making his debut in the series with a GTS Open Dodge Viper, ended up in second in front of Ombra Racing's Mario Cordoni. Leading the GTS3 category, the Ferrari racer did not lose his cool and comfortably edged Roberto Benedetti with the Corvette. Despite starting from the front row, Max Mugelli was forced to settle for 5th overall due to a spin at the first corner. The GTS Cup Trophy race was won by Ferrari's Gianfranco Bocellari, who prevailed thanks to a great move on Colombian Steven Goldstein. Class polesitter Marco Galassi faced a tougher luck as he retired early with mechanical issues. Race 2 start at 2.20 pm.
