Yamaha MotoGP team adds Superbike sponsor

Jorge Lorenzo's victory in Sunday's Italian Grand Prix was preceded by his Yamaha Factory Racing team signing a new sponsor for the next two and a half years.

Electrical connections firm BM Group from Italy is joining the MotoGP team and enhancing its existing strong ties with Yamaha, having sponsored its World Superbike team.

Both of our companies share similar values of passion, quality, innovation and teamwork," said Yamaha Motor Racing managing director Lin Jarvis.

"We enjoyed a successful collaboration in the past in Superbike and we look forward to partnering together in the coming years and to sharing many exciting moments and successes both on and off the track.

BM Group president Andrea Mario Lodolo added: "This international agreement is very important; it shows that our company is establishing itself as a centre of excellence and that we are going in the right direction.

"BM Groups innovation and determination makes it a perfect match for the most prestigious motorcycling event worldwide, which attracts international media coverage.
