aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari fourth in GT Le Castellet race 1

Behind the wheel of their Ferrari 458, it was not an easy first race in the weekend of the fifth round of the International GT Open for race drivers Andrea Montermini and Juan Manuel Lopez.

Today's race-2 will be broadcasted live at 12:55 in Italy by Primocanale and then deferred at 19:00 on RaiSport 2

Le Castellet (France), July 22nd, 2012. The aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari Team opened the 2012 International GT Open second half of the season with a fourth position in yesterday's race-1. One week only from Brands Hatch, on the Paul Ricard circuit race drivers Andrea Montermini and Juan Manuel Lopez are competing in the fifth round of the European series, organized by GT Sport, behind the wheel of their Ferrari 458 of Super GT class.

Yesterday the Italian former F.1 driver and the debut of the fast Argentine in Le Castellet did not suffer any glaring problems, but since the beginning they had to face an imperfection of their car that did not allow them to compete with the opponents at the top of their level. Despite a further five second handicap during the mandatory pit-stop of the driver change, the aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba crew has still managed to stay among the best, earning some points for the championship. Today, race-2 will start at 12:55, live on Primocanale and deffered on RaiSport 2 at 19:00 in Italy. Montermini-Lopez will start from the second row on the grid in fourth place with the first 458 of Super GT class.

Unfortunately - confirms Montermini - I have to say that we are not satisfied of race-1 above all because the car was not as competitive as we expected. It was like competing in a 'qualifying race', trying to keep a good pace. But he was tough and I struggled a lot to set decent lap times. In the end we still got points for the standings but now we just have to work hard to see if we can improve for today's race. We are analyzing the data. As usual we will give our best.
