Hillspeed Bolsters Formula Renault and Ginetta Junior Squads

Leading national motor racing team Hillspeed has bolstered its 2012 line-up in both the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship and the Ginetta Junior Championship, it is confirmed today, after securing deals with teenage racers Struan Moore and Keith Donegan respectively.Jersey 17-year-old Moore, who competed with Hillspeed in Ginetta Junior last year prior to calling time on his seasons racing due to educational commitments, will graduate to single-seater action in Formula Renault BARC for the final two events of the year at Donington Park and Silverstone.Having successfully tested one of the Hathersage squads FR 2.0 cars recently, the Ginetta podium finisher will make his competitive open-wheel debut just over a fortnight from now at Donington for rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the campaign joining Danish racer Jacob Nortoft and Briton Kieran Vernon.In Ginetta Junior last year, Moore secured a total of three podiums in his rookie season of car racing with the first coming during round 12 at Snetterton and two more following at Knockhill in Scotland at the very next event.Were absolutely delighted to have Struan back racing with Hillspeed, said team principal Richard Ollerenshaw, He showed a huge amount of potential in Ginetta Junior and during his first few tests in the Formula Renault BARC car he was very impressive. Its fantastic to be back up to three cars for the last two race meetings of the season and were confident Struan will do a fantastic job.Donegan, who is currently halfway through his maiden season in cars in Ginetta Junior, is switching teams to join Hillspeed for the final five events of the championship which kick-off with rounds 11 and 12 at Snetterton in Norfolk on 11th/12th August.So far this year, the 15-year-old from Dublin has recorded a best result of fifth place from the visit to Oulton Park in June and has two other top six finishes to his credit. With 10 races still remaining in the current season, the Irish youngster is only three points shy of the coveted championship top six.The teenager has tested with Hillspeed in recent weeks, during the championships natural summer break, and his arrival at the 2010 and 2011 title winning team will bring its Ginetta Junior entry back up to two cars with Donegan joining rapid front-runner and multiple podium finisher Pepe Massot.Ollerenshaw commented: Keith is a very bright young talent and weve been keeping a close eye on him since he debuted in Ginetta Junior at the start of the season. Hes very quick, has a lot of ability and is definitely one to watch. Were delighted hes joining us for the second half of the season and pleased Pepe [Massot] will have a strong team-mate to work with over the final 10 rounds.Hillspeeds next competitive track outing will be rounds 11 and 12 of the Ginetta Junior season at Snetterton 300 Circuit just over a week from now on 11th/12th August. The teams Protyre Formula Renault BARC squad will then be in action at Donington Park National Circuit on 18th/19th August.
