While the preferential rates period has just ended, the 5th edition of the Sonangol Africa Eco Race has a hundred participants already registered for the Raid or Classic and the organization expects more entries for the African adventure.
KTM Service for private riders
The motorcycle category is atracting a large number of competitors and with a Service operation proposed to private riders, KTM decided to enter a second service truck. Indeed, the Austrian manufacturer will provide technical support throughout the rally for the moderate sum ore 500-euro sum. Women in the race!
Emma CLAIR was the first woman to enter the Sonangol Africa Eco Race 2013 and in the Quad category. The organizer of the Morrocco Rally is not the only woman to take up the challenge of the Mauritanian dunes in bike category as an Italian rider, Silvia GIANNETTI has just confirmed her participation. If we add Elisabete JACINTO, again present in the steering wheel of her truck, Anne SCHOL in her first participation in Car category and Colette DELABY in SSV, the women will be well represented. Also, the organization is in contact with a French star, who has already been racing in Cross Country Rallies and who may take part in the adventure.
Thierry MORIN
In 2012, the POLARIS RZR 900 of Thierry MORIN amazed by its capacities of crossing and reliability of his SSV which arrived at the Lac Rose without any mechanical problems. This year, the winner of this new category will be on the road with about ten other SSV.
An electric car at the start
Team LATVIA, Lettish team well known in Cross Country Rallies with their proto Oscar, has confirmed their participation on the Sonangol Africa Eco Race 2013. The Letts are also entering a four wheels drive electric car in the Experimental category.
