Daniel Lloyd will make only the second visit of his motor racing career to Knockhill in Scotland next weekend, 25th/26th August, for rounds 13 and 14 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB seasonand the Huddersfield racer says qualifying will be the determining factor in challenging for podium results.Ahead of the seventh event of the 2012 season, the 20-year-old Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholar is fifth in the championship with one race victory and two other podiums to his credit and, so far, his rookie campaign has been a huge success.Even so, with his most recent podium result being his sensational wet-weather race win in round six at Thruxton, Daniel feels a rostrum visit is overdue and is determined to get his hands on more silverware when he travels north of the border a few days from now.I like Knockhill its a good track, quite a short track and so our races will be about 34 laps each which should make them quite interestingtheyll be quite physically demanding, said the TNT Post, TSD, Creechurch Private Wealth, Propack and TPA Yorkshire-backed racer, Its a really unique place, very much a stop-start track and so very different to the last couple of circuits weve visited.Daniels only prior experience of the undulating Fife track, which is situated near Dunfermline, came in 2008 during his maiden season of car racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship but he quickly got to grips with the renowned twists and turns of the 1.27-mile circuit.Qualifying within a mere 0.086 seconds of pole position, the then 16-year-old went on to claim a memorable victory in the second of the weekends races to mark himself out as a genuine star in the making. Fast forward to 2012 and Daniel has very much established himself as one of Britains most highly regarded young motor racing talents.I honestly cant remember much about Knockhill from back in my Ginetta Junior days but Im sure well be competitive from the off next weekend, he added, Well head up to Scotland with the same attitude as always, wanting to get back on the podiumits about time we had another one!I really need to nail qualifying, my race pace is really good and Im happy with how everything is going where thats concerned but youve got to get qualifying right. Its such an important part of the weekend so Im going to be concentrating really hard on getting that right and hopefully the rest will follow.Officially timed testing at Knockhill will take place on Friday, 24th August, with qualifying following on Saturday, 25th August, at 13.50.
