Triple A take debut Vantage GT3 win in Japanese Super GT series

Despite being forced to start from the back of the grid, the Triple A Vantage GT3 took victory in this weekend's fifth round of the 2012 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series at Suzuka.

After just eight laps of the race, Kazuki Hoshino had climbed through the pack and was closing in on the two lead cars.  By lap 15 he took the lead in his #66 car.  Hoshino handed over to Hiroki Yoshimoto and after two further pit stops and driver changes, Yoshimoto crossed the line to give the team victory in the legendary Pokka 1000km.

Kazuki Hoshino said:  "The car was in good condition from the very start on Saturday morning. And it was great through the qualifying, but then that (relagation to the back of the grid) happened and, to tell the truth, I had almost given up hope. But, after a good night's sleep, I woke up this morning and said to myself, 'I'm never going to give up.' The car and the tires were simply the best. It was a really good weekend."

The victory puts Hiroki Yoshimoto and Kazuki Hoshino into the lead of the drivers' ranking for the Japanese Super GT series.
