Tomas H Jonasson handed FIM Scandinavian SGP spot‏

Swedish star Tomas H Jonasson makes his second FIM Speedway Grand Prix appearance of 2012 after being handed the FIM Scandinavian SGP wild card.

The Vetlanda-born man lines up at No.16 in Malilla on September 8 and will be keen to build on his fourth place in the FIM Swedish SGP in Gothenburg on May 26.

Jonasson has made four World Championship appearances since making his debut at Malillas G&B Arena on August 14, 2010. He scored eight points in that meeting, and matched that figure from four rides in the rain-curtailed Swedish SGP on May 28, 2011.

He bagged nine in Malilla on August 13, 2011 to reach his first Grand Prix semi-final and battled his way to fourth spot and 11 points at the Ullevi Stadium earlier this term.

THJ races for his hometown club Vetlanda in Sweden. He also represents Gdansk in the Polish Ekstraliga and has just signed for Peterborough in the British Elite League.

He will be joined in Malilla by track reserves Kim Nilsson, who lines up at No.17, and Linus Sundstrom, who dons the No.18 race jacket.

Nilsson races for Vargarna in the Swedish Elitserien, where he rides with SGP regulars Nicki and Bjarne Pedersen. He also lines up alongside world No.2 Andreas Jonsson for Allsvenskan League side Rospiggarna and races for Lakeside in the UK.

Meanwhile, Sundstrom teams up with world champion Greg Hancock and SGP title contender Chris Holder for Elitserien champions Piraterna. He also rides with FIM Fogo Italian SGP winner Antonio Lindback at Masarna in the Allsvenskan.

The busy 22-year-old is in Peterboroughs septet alongside Kenneth Bjerre and Jonasson and competes for Lodz in the Polish First Division and Grindsted in the Danish Super League.

The referee is Wojciech Grodzki from Poland.
