Round 8: Fern Furnishing Loughborough Autotest, 2 September

Mark King took victory in the final championship round, the Loughborough Autotest, to secure third place in the standings behind Richard Pinkney and champion Steven Ferguson.

King and David Thompson went into the event separated by just one point. Thompson held a 1.1-second advantage going into the final round of tests but King produced the drive of his life to clinch victory by less than a second after 15 tests.

Kings win was also the first for a Class B car at MSA British Championship level. Rob Rolston won the Mini class, while David Fox recovered from a shaky start to secure Championship Class A honours.
