Double for Daniil Kvyat in Red Bull Ring F.Renault 2.0 Alps round

Perfect weekend, the Red Bull Ring one, for Daniil Kvyat.

Race 1 win on Saturday on wet conditions and then the double in Race 2 with dry asphalt. No mistakes in Austria for the Team Koiranen Motorsport Russian driver, that seized so far five races in F.Renault 2.0 ALPS and is now second in the overall standing with just a three points gap from the top

However the fifth out of the seven double season venues of the Renault Motorsport 2 liters single seater confirmed Norman Nato (RC Formula), sixth in race 2, as the Championship leader. Twice third the surprising Kvyat team mate Esteban Ocon, just 15 y/o. Impressive racing also from the young British Melville McKee: It is a shame my qualify was affected by the red flags. - declared the Interwetten.com driver capable of an astonishing come back after his 14th on the grid and second under the chequered flag - The most important thing was avoiding troubles at the start I made it. Twice fourth Victor Franzoni, capable of setting his first pole in qualify, while the Spanish Patrick Kujala ended fifth. Bad luck for the De Val brothers (GSK Grand Prix). Nicola was involved in a touch with the Tech1 Racing Colombian Oscar Tunjo while sixth, and Stefano suffered from an electrical problem. Not a positive weekend as well for Paul-Loup Chatin, only 14th and 12th.

THE REPORT. Alex Albon is the fastest at the start and passes Franzoni which however strikes back in the first lap. Back to the pits Tunjo after the crash with Nicola De Vale, while Kvyat seizes second place at the beginning of the third lap successfully overtakes Franzoni at the end of the main straight. Back in seventh place Albon, while now third is Ocon which also passes Franzoni. In the meantime a spun for Stefan Wackerbauer. Once more in the pits  Stefano De Val and the Polish Alex Bosak parks his car closet o the pitwall right in front of his crew. All attention is on McKee soon fourth. For him two no problems also in passing Franzoni first and Ocon after. No hazzle though for Kvyat. At this stage i can feel Im the fastest. - commented the Russian driver - Im aware that the points achieved in this weekend can be very important in the title chase, which remains my main goal.
