Mixed Weekend for Vancraft Triumph at Donington Park

Motorpoint British Supersport

It a weekend of highs and lows for Vancraft Triumph Supersport rider Josh Caygill at Donington Park this weekend, the youngster gained points in the first sprint race by finishing in 14th position. However the second race ended in disaster. Josh was unable to avoid hitting a rider in front of him who was involved in a collision, this sent Josh into a huge crash at Coppice corner and he was unfortunate to leave the circuit in an ambulance. He has sadly broken his shoulder blade and has been sent to Queens Hospital for further examinations.

Speaking with Josh after race 1 - "The weekend was going really well, after a few small technical problems on Friday I felt pretty good for qualifying. That all went ok and I was keen to do well in the race, as always the first few laps were a bit manic but I really wanted to try and work hard and get my head down. I dug deep and made some good passes and got into another point scoring position. I just kept plugging away and managed to make another pass towards the end of the race. I felt good and want to thank all the Vancraft Team for all their hard work."

Josh's injury updates will be posted on the Vancraft Triumph Facebook page.

Metzeler Superstock 600s

It was another strong weekend for 17-year-old Joe Collier, after his fantastic podium at Cadwell Park a few weeks ago Joe gained another solid result of seventh place at Donington Park in the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship.

Despite a couple of crashes on Friday Joe bounced back and was ninth during the qualifying sessions. In the extremely hot temperatures the Triumphs were struggling a bit on power and therefore affected Joe's performance during the race. He gained a good start and was up to eighth after the opening lap and was eager to make up another place and by lap five he was through to fifth. The race was red flagged due to an incident at the Old Hairpin on lap nine of 14 and the race result was declared.

Joe Collier - "I was a little disappointed with my result this weekend but I guess I'm comparing that to being on the podium at Cadwell. However I did much better this weekend than when we came to Donington back in May where I scored no points! I guess I'm still learning and every time I go out on the Vancraft Triumph I learn something new and I'm learning each time. The team have been great and hope I can finish the season at Silverstone and Brands on a high."
