Ricci on the Auto GP grid with MLR71 in Sonoma

Giacomo Ricci is ready to make his Auto GP comeback in Sonoma: on the Californian track the Italian driver will join MLR71, driving alongside team owner Michele La Rosa.Having a quality driver as Ricci back on the grid is undoubtedly good news for the Series: Giacomo had just two outings on the Auto GP car so far, Navarra 2010 and Marrakech 2011, and in both occasions he managed to clinch a podium finish thanks to both talent and experience. A 27 years-old, Ricci is among the most interesting talents grown in Italian motorsport in the last decade, a driver who managed to shine in GP2 winning in Bahrain and Hungary in 2010 and that won the Italian F3000 Championship in 2006, when he was just 21.On a track that will be new for all the Auto GP teams, Riccis experience will surely be a valuable asset to MLR71. Giacomo Ricci: Im really happy to be back in Auto GP, I like the car a lot and so far I had some very good results in it, so Im thrilled to be racing again in the Series. Im still looking for the first win in the Championship and that will be my aim in Sonoma. The other drivers will have more mileage than me in the car but the Sonoma track is new for almost everyone and I think that this will allow me to make a difference.
