Giancarlo Serenelli will make his comeback in the Auto GP Series at Sonoma, taking the wheel of the same Ombra Racing #45 car he drove in the first five rounds of the championship. From Caracas and a three-time F.Latam Champion, for the majority of the season Serenelli has been an entrant in both Auto GP and the GP2 Series, until a clash of dates meant that he missed the Curitiba Auto GP round. Now, despite another clashing commitment, Giancarlo chose to get back to Auto GP, where he had experienced a steadily improving trend.Giancarlo Serenelli: Im really happy that Ill be able to take part in the last round of the Auto GP season. Im really fascinated by the Sonoma track, it has some amazing corners and in the Auto GP car Im sure it will be a thrilling experience.
Im coming from two weeks of stop because of a shoulder injury but now Im 100% recovered, so I will be ready to give it all for me and Ombra Racing. When I debuted in the Series my aim was to improve race by race, and closing the season with a podium finish would be great. It will be our goal, and we will do our best to achieve it.
