Tutumlu makes his debut with Drivex in Valencia

After his good performance in the Porsche Supercup Isaac Tutumlu is going to drive a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR fielded by Drivex, a Porsche-backed team, at Circuit de Valencia and counting towards the Endurance Trophy Iber GT.

Isaac Tutumlu is approaching a new challenge in his motorsport career next weekend, debuting with a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR lined up by Drivex, a Madrid-based team but officially supported by the manufacturer from Weissach. His increasing performance over the course of the season in the Porsche Supercup, finished at Monza last weekend, paid off and he is going to debut in the Endurance Trophy Iber GT. Tutumlus target is helping Miguel ngel de Castro to revalidate the title clinched in 2011 in the series.

Im delighted because this opportunity to compete with Drivex is absolutely amazing. It is a team backed by Porsche and Im so happy because they chose me to help Miguel ngel for fighting for the drivers title. It proves Im improving my career, and my participation in the Porsche Supercup is much appreciated. In addition I feel that my career is moving in the correct way, Tutumlu explained. He added that Im looking forward to drive the Porsche 911 RSR, a car unknown for me but I think that my experience with similar Porsche cars will be very useful to get used to it. I dont think it is going to be a big issue. And I have two free practice sessions on Saturday to put experience under my belt. Those free practice sessions will help me to understand how Drivex and Miguel ngel work.

Concerning his ambitions for next weekend, Tutumlu said that Valencia is a track very well-known for me, finishing 4th there in the Spanish GT championship three years ago. Earlier this season I took part in the WTCC round and I was able to score points even with important engine problems all the weekend. Miguel ngel and I are a competitive and strong duo, so Im eying for a good result for my new teammate and team. Another important target for me is to claim the first international podium for a Kurdish driver. It is going to be an exciting challenge. The free practice sessions and qualifying are scheduled on Saturday, with the race starting on Friday at 12.15 (CET).
