Spavone back in Auto GP Series with Ombra Racing

Auto GP is ready to welcome another comeback in Sonoma. Antonio Spavone, who had missed the Curitiba races after contesting the first five rounds of the Series, will be back on the grid in California: the Italian driver will join Ombra Racing to take the wheel of the #23 car, driving alongside another returnee, Venezuelan Giancarlo Serenelli. At just 18 Antonio is one of the youngest drivers on the grid and hes at his first season on a really powerful car, after two years in the junior formulae that saw him contest the Italian and European F.Abarth and some races in the Formula Pilota China series. Despite his lack of experience Spavone was a regular points finisher this season in Auto GP: in Sonoma he will try to improve his best Auto GP result so far, a fifth place clinched in Monzas Race 2.Antonio Spavone: Im really happy to jump back in an Auto GP car. Im not driving it since June and frankly Ive missed it a lot. Compared to the other car I drove this season, the GP3, Auto GP makes me feel much more at ease, maybe because Im better suited to powerful cars. I also like the championship a lot, the format is great and racing against experienced drivers theres a lot to learn.

Speaking about Sonoma, I tried it on the simulator and I had a very good impression. Its a track where you can make a difference, with lots of fast and blind corners and not much room for mistakes. I loved it on the sim and Im pretty confident for the weekend.
