Lorenzo fastest in Misano MotoGP morning warm-up

Under sunny skies it was Yamaha Factory Racings Jorge Lorenzo who went fastest in the morning warm-up at the Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera de Rimini in Misano ahead of Dani Pedrosa and Ben Spies.

A time of 1.34470 saw Lorenzo beat the Repsol Honda Rider by just one hundredths of a second, with Spies looking back on the pace once more after his difficult qualifying yesterday. Yamahas American rider appeared comfortable out on track as he placed his Yamaha in third behind the Spanish duo. Todays front row starter, Monster Yamaha Tech 3s Cal Crutchlow, ended the morning in fourth, in front of his much-improved teammate Andrea Dovizioso.

Pramac Racing Teams Hctor Barber was an early crasher on board his satellite Ducati as he lost the front heading into a turn. The Spaniard, who has recently endured some heavy crashes fortunately walked away from the incident, albeit gingerly. LCR Honda MotoGPs Stefan Bradl also had a high-speed low-side, which he escaped unhurt, whilst Power Electronics Aspars Randy de Puniet took a tumble towards the end of the session.
