V8 Supercar Safety car driver Amber Dynamite Anderson will make her debut in the 2012 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Seriesprotected by Armor All at Round 5 at Mount Panorama, 47 October.
Dynamite Solutions backed Anderson will be the fifth female to ever race in the category and the second lucky lady to join the Series this year (alongside former Shannons Supercar Showdown contestant Hayley Swanson). Making this the first time in V8 Ute history that two females have raced in the Series at the same time.
Im feeling really excited about being one of the two females on track and were really flying the flag for all the females out there and we can race better than the guys, said Anderson.
The Melbourne based driver is not only handy behind the wheel of a race car but is qualified in aerobatics and scuba diving, she is a full-time lawyer, on the board of Animal Aid and is also on the committee for Women of Australian Motorsport.
Anderson will be one of only three females who will be racing around Mount Panorama over the Bathurst 1000 weekend (the third, Amanda Spark from Touring Car Masters) and she encourages more women to take up the charge.
I hope that in driving the Ute I can really climb through the ranks and assist other people and give them the confidence to give it a go and try motorsport and show them thats its not just for the boys, said Anderson.
The 28 year old Lawyer is hoping for an advantage over her fellow competitors with some extra laps around Mount Panorama as she continues to steer the V8 Supercar Safety Car in the Nissan GTR over the Bathurst weekend.
Its going to be really difficult to juggle the main series races along with the Ute races but it will give me more laps around the mountain and an advantage over the drivers who are new to the track but the Ute is a different beast to drive so Ill need to keep control over the top of the mountain for sure, she explained.
The former Shannons Supercar Showdown contestant is testing with her Big Gun Racing teammates at QLD Raceway today and is feeling positive about her year ahead. Im feeling heaps more confident in the car, the boys are letting me get a feel for the car and get used to it and Im trying to get rid of some bad habits from driving other cars. The team is really excited and were looking for a good solid showing at Bathurst, she said.
Her Ford FG will be backed by Dynamite Solutions for the remainder of the year.
Im here thanks to Dynamite Solutions and V8 nights its really exciting to have them on board as a new company in motorsport, theyve been incredible. Im really looking forward to the year with Big Gun Racing, who have also been incredibly supportive and Im really excited to be wearing my brand new suit today courtesy of freem, said Anderson.
Anderson has two more practice runs up her sleeve (Thursday, 4th & Friday, 5th October) at Mount Panorama before hitting the track for qualifying on the Friday.
