Weather Affects EKL Welsh Racing
Racing was short-lived Sundayat Llandow as the rain and low temperature brought a very early halt to proceedings in the Elite Karting League event. Just four races were completed before the elements were the ultimate winners and the remaining races in the fourth round have been postponed. Winners from the four sprint races held were Teamsport Titans, Northampton Knights, Teesside Tigers and Leicester Alley Cats. Round five takes place at Whilton Mill in Northamptonshire on 7th October. The postponed races will be run on 10th November at Teesside with the final round being held at the same venue the following day.Kat Pope, EKL Coordinator: Its a great shame that we couldnt hold the full event in Wales yesterday. Its a great track but the weather got the better of some of the drivers. EKL is all about racing for drivers of all abilities so we have to cater for the majority who are less experienced in bad conditions. The advantage of the postponement is that the double-header at Teesside in November is going to be a fantastic finale to the season. Until then we have Whilton Mill to look forward to which is already attracting a big grid so we only have another two weeks to wait to get back out and have more exciting racing.
