Scott-Eklund Racing Statement

Scott-Eklund Racing will not complete its 2012 Global Rallycross Championship (GRC) campaign as Andy Scott and Per Eklund have been unable to reach a mutual agreement to continue competition in the two remaining rounds. The team will refocus its efforts on cementing the solid foundations built during its debut GRC season for future competition.

Eklund Motorsport will run Samuel Hubinette in Las Vegas and SEMA, while Team Principal and lead driver Scott will continue his FIA European Rallycross Championship endeavours in Germany this weekend.

The privateer Scott-Eklund Racing team, established in January 2012, has proved more than a match for the manufacturer-backed entries across the opening four GRC rounds, with numerous race wins netted by both 2011 MSA British Rallycross Vice-Champion Scott, and American double Formula Drift Champion Hubinette, who currently lies second in the GRC standings.

Scott-Eklund Racing Team Principal Andy Scott commented: What the team has achieved this season has been no mean feat. I am immensely proud of the highly-skilled personnel who have delivered those achievements and would like to thank Per for his tireless efforts. We also appreciate the invaluable support of our partners and suppliers; Champion Racing, TiAL Sport, Cooper Tires, Atlas Communications and Scott Trawlers. We remain committed to them, the GRC and its stakeholders, and look forward to continuing to build on those solid foundations.
