DNF for Johnny Blackshaw at Silverstone

Accident Advice Solicitors supported rider Johnny Blackshaw riding for Smiths Triumph had a disappointing weekend at the penultimate race of the year at Silverstone circuit. The 21-year-old struggled all weekend at the fast track and was unfortunate to crash out of the Metzeler National Superstock 600 race uninjured.

With mixed weather conditions on Friday morning most of the session was missed by most riders and therefore Johnny was a session behind. He was out on track Friday afternoon but found it difficult to find a set up that suited him for the weekend.

He and the Smiths Triumph team worked hard all weekend but Johnny could only secure 19th place in qualifying for the 10-lap race. Leaving a lot of work to do Johnny got a steady start and tried to work his way through the melee in the opening laps but was unfortunate to tuck the front on lap three and crashed out of the race.

Johnny - "It's been a really difficult weekend this weekend and nothing seemed to work in my favour. I really struggled to find a set up on the Smiths Triumph and we kept making a few changes but nothing seemed to work. I wanted to get a good result to build my confidence back up and despite the fact I had a bad qualifying I thought I might be able to make up some places in the race. I didn't want the front pack to get away and I went to make a pass but the front tucked and that was me out. I just hope I can end the season at Brands Hatch on a high note."
