Seven-way penultimate BTCC battle comes to Silverstone

Seven drivers still in with a chance of securing the 2012 title

Open paddock, free pit lane walkabout and driver autograph session

Kids go free*

The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Silverstone this weekend (05 - 07 October) for the penultimate round of the 2012 season. With seven drivers still in with a chance of winning the title, three races and 67 points up for grabs, the on-track action is set to be fiercer than ever. With Silverstones kids go free* policy, the weekend will be a fantastic opportunity for younger fans to get into the BTCC motor sport spirit.

The tension in the paddock will be high as Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal (both Honda Yuasa Racing Team), Jason Plato (MG KX Momentum Racing), Andrew Jordan (Pirtek Racing), Robert Collard, Tom Onslow-Cole (both eBay Motors), and Mat Jackson (Redstone Racing) continue to push in the battle to be crowned 2012 Champion.

With Silverstones high-speed National Circuit unlikely to suit the Honda duo of Shedden and Neal, two times BTCC Champion Jason Plato will be in for a chance to steal the show at his local circuit and gain some ground on the championship leaders. This weekends penultimate BTCC event at Silverstone is absolutely crucial for my championship aspirations. We simply must take a sizeable chunk out of the Honda drivers points advantage if we want to be in a position to take the crown at the final meeting. I am determined to make my home event a success. We have a great opportunity ahead of us, and by God will we be giving 100% in every single area. No stone will be left unturned, I want my third title, simples"

There will be plenty of opportunities for fans to get close up to the drivers and teams this weekend, with free access to the BTCC paddock, pit lane walkabout and driver autograph session. In addition, there will be a host of off-track entertainment at Silverstone, including the Red Devils Parachute Display Team, Segways, Animal Bike Tour and Silverstone Caterham Hot Rides.
