2012 British Rallycross Grand Prix In Association With Star Radio - Croft Circuit - Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th October 2012
Global rallycross star Andy Scott and Finnish ace Silvo Viitanen are the latest drivers to confirm their participation in the MSA British Rallycross Grand Prix in association with Star Radio which takes place at Croft Circuit on Sunday 28th October.
Scott, the trawler fleet owner from Dumfries has been away in the USA contesting the prestigious Global Rallycross Championship alongside Swedish rallying legend Per Eklund and will bring either his Ford Focus or Peugeot 306 Supercar to the North Yorkshire track in a bid to emulate his Superprix victory of 2010.
The former motocross champion finished third in last year's GP and will join a host of top drivers including another former Superprix winner Kevin Procter who recently confirmed he will contest the event in his Ford Focus Supercar and will lead the local challenge against a strong international field.
Meanwhile Viitanen (Finland) will be bringing his rapid Ford Fiesta MK7 Supercar over for a second year running. The Finn rolled out of last year's action so will be looking to make amends this year. Reduced rate ferry deals are still available for any international competitors wishing to take part and entry forms are available from the official website www.rallycrossGP.com.
The organisers are also welcoming back Vasstech, the local independent Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Skoda specialists based in Darlington and Northallerton, who will be providing the course car for the event for a second successive year and other sponsorship and hospitality packages are still available by calling 0333 2000 123 or via the website www.rallycrossGP.com.
In addition to the Grand Prix on the Sunday, Saturday will see the final round of the MSA British Rallycross Championship which should see all the titles decided and should see a very strong entry.
