Round 8: Colin McRae Forest Stages, 6 October

Julian Reynolds and co-driver Patrick Walsh were crowned MSA British Historic Rally Champions following the curtain-closing Colin McRae Forest Stages.

Reynolds and Walsh withstood event-long pressure from title rivals Nick Elliott and Dave Price to take their sixth straight win in Category Two and scoop the overall title by five points.

Elliott won Category Three, wringing every last ounce of speed from his Ford Escort Mk2. In Category One, Rikki Proffitt and Phill Harrison regained some of their early season form to outpace rivals and fellow Porsche 911 crew Dessie Nutt and Geraldine McBride.
