Formula Ford teams up with BTCC in new three-year TOCA deal

TOCA MOTORSPORT PACKAGE BOOSTS 2013 FORMULA FORD SERIES

 ■Live TV coverage for next year broadcast on ITV4 ■10,000 incentive for each driver ■Most technically advanced junior single-seater race car                             In a new deal just confirmed with TOCA, Formula Ford will team up with BTCC for three years in an agreement that will see single-seater and touring car racing broadcast live on prime-time TV.This season-long live TV coverage, as part of Britains premier TOCA motorsport package, will transform Formula Ford into not only the fastest but also the highest profile junior single-seater championship in the UK.Formula Ford EcoBoost race cars will become the sole regular single-seater support category to the prestigious Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. The deal includes live TV at each of the 10 events, broadcast on ITV4 in the UK.To mark the significance of the move back to TOCA, Roelant de Waard, Ford Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Service, announced a huge boost to championship hopefuls - a support package which includes free official testing and entry fees for the entire 2013 season to the first 15 drivers who register, worth 10,000 to each driver.The announcement was welcomed by BTCC series director Alan Gow and MSA chief executive Colin Hilton:I am delighted to have Formula Ford back supporting the BTCC, said Gow.  For many seasons Formula Ford provided some of the best support-event racing we have ever seen and I have no doubt that we will see many more of those gloriously competitive races driven by some future F1 stars. Its very much a case of welcome home Formula Ford.Hilton added: Formula Ford offers the perfect recipe for close, exciting racing because the diverse chassis perform differently at each venue, creating spectacular entertainment and enabling different drivers and manufacturers to reach the podium.Formula Ford enjoys MSA championship status, and the governing body of British motorsport will continue to show its support in 2013 with its specially developed driver training programme with the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain.
