At Hockenheim, the Spaniard crowned his strong season performance and won the Formula 3 Euro Seriestitle for the first time in his career. In the last event at the legendary track in the Hardtwald forest, things got really close again for the 21-year old, in spite of a 35 pointsadvantage. Due to technical problems, Juncadella didnt score points in the first two races, but then got it all set by finishing fourth in the final round and became the tenth champion in history of the Formula 3 Euro Series.Pascal Wehrlein rounded off his season in the worlds toughest junior racing series in a sensational second place. With two second places and an eighth place at Hockenheim, the German once again showed his great potential and became the dominant winner of the rookie classification. At the start of the season, I had to learn quite a bit about the car and the tyres. However, we managed to do that and from the halfway points, we were absolutely competitive. The very consistent Hankook tyres also contributed to that,the 18-year old said.As a novice in the Formula 3 Euro Series, Sven Mller also showed a great performance. At the Hockenheimring, he scored his maiden season victory in the second race on Saturday. In the final driversstandings, the 20-year old ended up sixth.
It was a formative year and as a rookie, I have made a few marks. The Hankook tyres were very good and reliable, we could perfectly plan with them, also with different tyre pressure levels,the quick German delighted.Seriesmanager Christoph Hewer is also looking back upon a successful year. We always had between 18 and 20 cars and have strengthened the Formula 3 Euro Series even further. Here, the young drivers really get to know the car and its particularities and also the huge media coverage together with the DTM is a new phenomenon for many of them.Christoph Hewer was very positive about Hankooks Ventus Race. The thing the drivers like most, is that, with the incredibly consistent Hankook tyres, they are able to focus exclusively on the race and push all the time.This season, the DTMs exclusive tyre partner also supported the Formula 3 Euro Series with its tyres for the first time and will continue this commitment next year. It is simply fun to work with the young drivers, to watch their progress and to help them on the way up.
