Formula Renault Winter Series Heads to Rockingham

STARS OF TOMORROW HEAD TO ROCKINGHAM FOR BARC WINTER SERIESWITH the motor racing season drawing to a close, fans will have the chance to grab their final fix of British Club Racing at Rockingham next month (November) when the Northamptonshire circuit hosts its penultimate meeting of the season.Spectators will have the chance to pick out the stars of the future when the 2012 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Winter Series with Michelin visits the circuit for its final round on Saturday, November 10.Tickets cost just 15 on the day and with free admission for children aged 16 and under this is a perfect opportunity to watch some of the UKs most promising young racing drivers at a great price.The winter single-seater championship has been used over the years as a springboard to success by a number of top drivers including former FIA World Formula One Champions Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen.Last seasons Protyre Formula Renault BARC Winter Series winner, Spaniard Victor Jiminez, graduated to saloon racing and has enjoyed a successful debut season with Redline/Oman Air finishing a respectable 12th in the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup.In addition to the single seater series, there will be some great saloon car racing. Fresh from supporting this seasons Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, the Ginetta Juniors will be joined by the drivers from the BARC Sports & Saloon Challenge and Kumho BMW.The day will start with qualifying before the heat is turned up as the teams and their drivers battle it out to see who will finish highest on the podium in seven exciting races on Rockinghams 1.94 mile International Super Sportscar Circuit.MGR Motorsports Matt Mason and Fortec Motorsports Seb Morris shared the Formula Renault victories during the opening two rounds of the Winter Series at Brands Hatch last weekend however it is Nottinghams Mason who currently leads the championship by just two points.Advance tickets can be booked online at www.rockingham.co.uk or via the ticket hotline on 01536 500500 until midday Friday (November 9), however spectators will be able to purchase them on the gate.

All tickets include a grandstand seat with a unique panoramic view of the entire circuit, and access to the race paddock, allowing a unique insight into the hard work behind the scenes from the teams. Gates open at 8am, with qualifying starting an hour later at 9am.
