EASTBOURNE manager Trevor Geer says the form of Finnish star Timo Lahti was one of the big highlights of the Eagles 2012 campaign.Lahti started the season on a three-point average after a tough first season in the Elite League, but more than doubled that figure to move up into the main body of the side.Geer said: I could see before the league got under way he was set for a good year. He was well set up and at the pre-season practice sessions Timo looked fast and confident. So, it was no surprise he did well this year but no-one can say they expected him to score as many points as he did.Everyone connected with the Eagles is absolutely delighted and it shows just how right we were to persevere with Timo when he first came to England in 2011.

EDINBURGH are to hold two meetings with supporters prior to the sports AGM in order to provide an update on the clubs plans for the future. The Monarchs require additional investment in order to commit to running in 2013 and there has already been interest in that area from fans.Director Mike Hunter said: A significant sum has already been pledged to the club by supporters, but with the debts at the end of the 2012 season being substantial the club are still some way from being able to confirm participation in the 2013 season. As well as allowing supporters to contribute, the club are exploring avenues to raise funds in other ways. It is realistic to say that we need a fair cushion of funds going into next seasonwe would not want to be gambling too much on the weather getting better.
