aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari Team out of luck in GT Open Race 2

In a chaotic race-2 of the GT Open finale all the chances of Montermini-Lopez and their Ferrari 458 were affected by the drying of the track and a contact with another car while they were leading the field

The last 2012 GT Open race of the aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari Team was affected by weather conditions. A real pity for race drivers Andrea Montermini and Juan Manuel Lopez, who have already shown a remarkable pace in race-1 when they clinched a stunning second place after a lot of exciting fights behind the wheel of their powerful Ferrari 458 on Saturday. Started on rain tyres, today Lopez dominated the early stages of race-2 taking the lead of the 39 GT cars field. The early rain stopped during the second lap and the drying of the asphalt affected the chance to reach the podium again and relegated the Italian squad to the latest positions. Also a contact with another car suffered by the Argentine when he was defending the leadership influenced the outcome of the race. Only the following great comeback by Montermini allowed the aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba team to catch up twenty positions.

After an exciting race-1 - says Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal -, today we were not lucky. However, our comeback has confirmed the value of teamwork. An intensive and difficult season came to an end and we are already looking forward to the next.

Today - says Montermini - some events did not support our race. Nothing to complain about our teamwork. We recovered everything possible but with no doubts the situation was compromised. It was a difficult season but it also confirmed us as a top-team. From tomorrow we will start working for the future.
