Safety and flexibility enhanced with new clamshell range

Specialty Fasteners & Components Limited are pleased to announce an exciting new development in their longstanding relationship with Hydraflow, a market leader to the aviation and defence industries for flexible fluid couplings, hose assemblies and quick disconnects.

At Hydraflow, innovation is a best-selling product; when Specialty Fasteners identified an opportunity in the motorsport and tuning market for a flexible clamshell coupling which incorporated the innovative styling and design performance demanded by the aerospace industry, Hydraflow proposed the new 14J21 series.

Announcing the new initiative, Graham Leo, sales manager of Specialty Fasteners, said:"We feel this product is a real advance in motorsport fluid connectors, with several new features. A big plus is the unique safety locking device, which ensures correct installation as it cannot be engaged until the clamshell has been correctly closed. Combined with this, the electrical bonding wires are incorporated within the clamshell halves, not only improving the looks and integrity of the product, but also giving increased mechanical performance.

"Even with these innovations, there is no weight or dimension envelope penalty with the 14J21," continued Leo, "and it conforms to aerospace requirements for flexible fuel couplings."

Finished in striking red, the 14J21 series will be offered in all tube diameters, from 0.5inch through to 4.0inch, with butt weld aluminium flanges and seals offered to complete the package. CAD models will also be available upon request.
