(SPEEDWAY 1)LEIGH Lanham will remain with Ipswich next season having been named as the Witches’ third confirmed starter.
Lanham made his Foxhall return early this year when the club rebuilt due to injuries, and now joins new signings Ben Barker and Adam Ellis in the 2013 line-up.
Co-promoter Chris Louis said: “It is great to have Leigh back. He is a much-needed mature head in the pits and is great at calming some of the youngsters down when things get tough.
“We can also rely on him to handle the pressure and deliver the goods in the final heats of a meeting when we need some vital points to secure a win as he did in the Knockout Cup at Somerset for example.”

(SPEEDWAY 2)KING’S Lynn have commenced their National League team building with the signing of 19-year-old Shane Hazelden.
The Young Stars have snapped up Hazelden on a 4.57 average as they seek to improve on the 2012 season when they finished bottom of the table.
Manager Dale Allitt said: “It wasn't very long ago that he was Rye House Raiders’ number one, and we feel he can come into our team and do a fantastic job.
“He will start down the lower end of the team, but he is the sort of rider that can add points onto his average during the course of the season.”(SPEEDWAY 3)

RICKY Ashworth and David Howe will both make their comebacks from injury in Somerset’s Christmas Cracker meeting on December 28.
The pair saw their seasons for Berwick and Scunthorpe respectively curtailed but will get back to racing at the Oaktree Arena, with Simon Lambert also a confirmed starter for the event.
Meeting co-ordinator Garry May said: “When asked, all three jumped at the chance to race in the meeting, with Ricky and David seeing it as an ideal opportunity to get some competitive track time given the lay-off they both suffered last season.
“In saying that, they have both made it clear that they are not treating the meeting as some sort of glorified practice session, but are determined to go all-out to get their hands on the winner’s cheque.”
