On 22-23 June 2013 the Le Mans 24 Hours will celebrate their 90th anniversary, as the race, whose roots go back to the origins of the motor car, was held for the first time in 1923. In 90 years the status of this event has evolved from being a mainly French motor race to one that has become a sporting legend on a world scale. The legend will be even further enriched at endurance racing’s greatest rendezvous in 2013. Audi the reigning winner also clinched the world titles for both manufacturers and drivers. The Ingolstadt firm will be out to beat Toyota, which has shown itself to be a redoubtable rival. The Japanese automotive giant finished the season in a blaze of glory winning three out of the last four rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Ferrari, which triumphed in the GTE Pro category in this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours in June, will have to fight off the attacks of Porsche’s new works team as well as Aston Martin, Corvette and Viper making its Le Mans comeback. After the incredible Nissan DeltaWing, the place on the grid allocated to a technologically advanced prototype will go to the Green GT powered by hydrogen!
