Sieders Sydney circuit assault.

With two cars in contention for the Series Championship, local Sydneysiders Sieders Racing Team will be throwing every available resource at the Grand Finale of the 2012 Auto One V8 Ute Seriesprotected by Armor All when it hits the streets of Homebush Olympic Park this weekend, 30 November2 December.

The family-run motorsport operation will be preparing and running four FG V8 Utes at this weekends round, including David Sieders and Andrew Fisher who sit second and fourth respectively in the Championship, with 15 and 75 points separating them from the Series lead of Ryal Harris.

Its been a really full on year, said Team Owner Luke Sieders, we have built five of the new FG Utes for the Championship and done a lot of work around them, so we are definitely looking to a strong finish to the year in front of a local crowd including lots of friends and family.

Weve managed to take out Series podium spots in the past two years, with Andrew [Fisher] coming third in 2010 and Dave [Sieders] coming runner up last year, said Sieders, we have a really good shot to get both of the guys up there this year, so we will be doing everything we can to make it happen.

Adding to their arsenal is the return of 2010 Homebush Round Winner Charlie OBrien to the V8 Ute Championship, who will steer the number 10 car run by Sieders Racing alongside Dave Sieders (who won here in 2011 and is the current lap record holder), giving the Team two of the three Sydney V8 Ute Champions for this weekend.

I feel really honoured to have such a motorsport legend jumping in one of Sieders Racing built and run race cars, joining the Team for this final round of 2012, said Sieders.

Charlie has proved himself over and over again in various forms of the sport for four decades, and to have the two past Sydney winners in the Team should make for a really competitive weekend, said Sieders.

When you also add Andrew Fisher, who stood on the podium in 2009, and Ben Dunn, who has been towards the top of the timesheets in practice throughout the year and here in Sydney, into the mix, I think we are looking to have a great end to the season.

The addition of OBrien to the Sieders Racing Team may only be for this weekends Grand Finale round, however, Sieders admits that there are discussions of returning Australian Touring Car Championship veteran to the V8 Ute Series in 2013.

Charlie and I have been talking a lot over the past 12 months since we purchased his V8 Ute entry about getting him behind the wheel again, and whilst its only a one-off at this stage, we are looking at how we can get him back in the Series full time next year.

The V8 Utes will hit the streets on Friday 30 November for two Practice Sessions before qualifying at 4:45pm, with Race 1 on Saturday at 11:25am, and two races on Sunday at 8:45am and 1:45pm, with Races 1 and 3 telecast as live on Network Seven.

We are doing the most we can to get the best possible result at our last and local round for 2012, but no matter the outcome, Im really happy with how the guys have performed on the track and in the garage this year.
