New partner for Fixi Crecent Suzuki team

Specialist timepiece dealers 'Watches of Distinction' is the newest partner to join the UK-based FIXI Crescent Suzuki World Superbike team.

Watches of Distinction are purchasers and sellers of fine-quality pre-owned and new watches. Based in Lymington, on the outskirts of the New Forest National Park in England, the company specialises in sourcing and retailing new, pre-owned, rare and prestigious wrist watches from the world's leading manufacturers including Rolex, Franck Muller, Cartier, Breitling, Tag-Heuer and others. It also has an established watch repair, restoration and service facility, staffed by repairers that have years of knowledge and experience within the industry working with premium brands.

The link between watches and the importance of time in the World Superbike arena is an obvious and important connection and, within the new partnership, Watches of Distinction will supply a Franck Muller Cortez 10000 H SC watch in steel - valued at more than 12,000 - to one of the FIXI Crescent Suzuki racers, Leon Camier or Jules Cluzel, as a prize for the best season-long qualifying results. The duo will have this added incentive of battling for those extra hundredths-of-a-second during Superpole throughout this season's 15-event series, to see who comes out on top. Full details of this inter-team competition will be revealed as the season begins, with regular updates throughout the year. The new FIXI Crescent Suzuki livery will feature the Watches of Distinction logo on the helmets of Camier and Cluzel when they begin their competitive action at the first round of the 2013 Superbike World Championship season at Phillip Island in Australia on February 24th. Giles Waite - Watches of Distinction Managing Director:

"We are really excited to create this partnership with the FIXI Crescent Suzuki team. I used to race bikes in the '80s and Watches of Distinction got involved in Classic GP racing in 2011, but neither of those matches the high profile of the World Superbike Championship! There is a big connection between bike racing and watches, not just that the riders are always racing against the clock as well as each other, but there is also the 'boys toys' feel to it - the image of the fast bike, the cool watch and the iconic brands - on top of the link between the high precision engineering of exotic watches and racing motorcycles. So to be involved at the highest end of two-wheel racing and with such a prestigious name as Suzuki was an opportunity we couldn't miss. I'm looking forward to a great year of racing, being a part to the squad and seeing WSB close up. We've already got an inter-team rider competition going on to see who wins the watch for best qualifying and that will give us an even bigger incentive to continue to build a strong relationship with FIXI Crescent Suzuki as time goes by."
