Australian V8 Ute Racing has joined in the 30th year celebration of Ronald McDonald House (RMH) Australia and has taken the RMH South East Queensland Chapter on board as the official V8 Ute Racing Series Charity.
Ronald McDonald House is dedicated to helping seriously ill children and their families; it was established in 1985 and since then has provided vital help to over 75,000 families through a wide range of programs.David Kimmorley, Chairman of Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, is thrilled with the partnership.
It is a very exciting partnership one which will be rewarding for RMH's SEQ as the sounds of the V8 Ute engines roaring, the spirit and passion of support teams and fans is motivating. To capture the winning feeling and team bonding is similar to our needs within the houses and I thank the V8 Ute racing teams for choosing us as the charity of choice and for the contribution this will make for their rural communities, I look forward to the 2013 circuit ."
The first RMDH opened in Camperdown in Sydney in 1981, and today there are 13 houses throughout Australia. Sometimes up to 300 families are staying in the houses at one time and most families are from country Australia. Without the help of outside donations the houses wouldnt run.
RMH South-East Queenslands has 2 houses in Brisbane and due to demand will build another Ronald McDonald House to coincide with the opening of the new Queensland Childrens Hospital due to open in Brisbane in 2014. RMH SEQ will also open two family rooms in the new Gold Coast Hospital in September 2013. Australian V8 Ute Racing will assist with this task in its fundraising efforts on and off the track.
Australian V8 Ute Racing Category Manager and Director of SPHERIX, Bill West is excited to have Ronald McDonald House SEQ on board.
Its a great cause and a great fit with the category. The services Ronald MacDonald House SEQ provide; including not only a home away from home for regional families with seriously ill children, providing safe accommodation close to the hospitals. RMH SEQ also provide programs such as the Learning program, Family Rooms in the hospitals, Family Retreats and Scholarship programs. We are happy to help where we can with this hard-working charity, said Mr West.
Australian V8 Ute Racing will help with various fundraising activities and you may even see Ronald McDonald himself at an event from time-to-time.
Australian V8 Ute Racing has assisted many charities in the past and is looking forward to raising awareness and funds for Ronald MacDonald House South East Queensland.
