Autosport International will host the very first UK appearance of the car taking legendary British manufacturer Bentley back to motorsport, at Birmingham's NEC on 10-13 January 2013.
After a decade away, Bentley will return to the sport next year with the Continental GT3, which was launched as a concept at September's Paris Motor Show. The new race car is based on the road-going GT Speed, the fastest car built by the manufacturer to date.
The programme is Bentley's first in motorsport since 2003, when it won the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans for the sixth time, and the first time since 1930.
British fans will be able to see the stunning Continental GT3 for the first time on 10-13 January, when it will be displayed on the Autosport Stage. As development work continues ahead of its first test during 2013, World Rally Championship outfit M-Sport Ltd is the approved technical partner, designing and developing specialist components.
"Not only do we now have a world-beating operation in M-Sport as our new Technical Partner, but we have the honour of showing our Continental GT3 concept at Autosport International," said Bentley's Director of Motorsport, Brian Gush. "The car continues to attract interest from around the globe, which is very encouraging as we progress the detail design. The whole team is looking forward to the exciting months ahead."
"Bentley's return to motorsport is great news, it's fantastic to have such a famous name re-entering the sport," said Ian France, Autosport International Show Director. "The Continental GT3 is simply stunning and a fantastic piece of British machinery to showcase at the main Autosport International stage."
The Bentley Continental GT3 joins an impressive list of British machinery on show for the first time at Autosport International. Supercar manufacturer Radical will unveil its new, 175mph RXC at the show, while the new Sin 01 sports car project will be launched.
Elsewhere at the show, the F1 Racing Grid will host cars from the exciting 2012 Formula One season and the Dunlop British Touring Car Championship will star with a seven-car display. The careers of three-time Formula One World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart and Britain's 2001 World Rally Champion Richard Burns will be highlighted with features.
