Strawberry Racing gets 2013 off to a winning start

Strawberrys new signing Connor Hall gave the reigning World and European Rotax champions a late Christmas present with a superb victory on his debut at PFi (2 January).

It was also the brand new Tony Kart Racer EVK chassis maiden win for Strawberry Racing in British competition.

Connor was in electrifying form from the outset, starting his first heat from 19th place on the grid before powering his way to first in emphatic style. He followed this up with another well taken triumph to seal pole position for the main final.

The number five seeded Super One star delivered a clear demonstration of his ambitions for the coming season with a dominant lights-to-flag victory, leaving his nearest rival to trail home nearly two seconds behind him.

Im really excited after watching him do that, said Strawberry team manager, Warwick Ringham. Previously Connors only had a few days testing with us; so to come to PFi, go up against a strong field and beat them in both wet and dry conditions - and on a completely new chassis, with an unfamiliar team - is very promising.

He added: It also shows just how good the new kart is. Tony Kart has again produced a superb chassis that is both easy to drive and set up, no matter what the conditions are. Already it looks like its the kit to be on, with of course, a Cream motor by your elbow and under your right foot!

With Hall committed to racing with the team in the Super One and Euro Max series, Ringham is looking for another talented driver to join him: Theres a Mini Max race seat available plus one last Junior Max space. I think Connors demonstrated perfectly just how good our 2013 equipment is, and our history of success is second to none. Im keen to talk to drivers who want to turn their raw pace into race and championship-winning potential.
