AF Corse commits to full GT Sprint International Series season

World-renowned Grand Touring squad AF Corse is set for a very welcome comeback to the GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES, as the Italian-based squad will rejoin the championship's grid from the first round of 2013 at Monza, on the 7th of April. Amato Ferrari and his staff have confirmed their commitment right before leaving their headquarters for the upcoming 24-hour race at Daytona. The comeback of such a stunning contender (and a Ferrari-supported official team) will be an highly-valuable addition to the 2013 roster, and a further confirmation of the interest that the new rules have generated. Starting from this season, the GTSPRINT weekend will feature double 60-minute races with a mandatory pit-stop.AF Corse is also a proven winner in the GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES as they scored a commanding double 2011 title by taking both the team championship and the driver's honours with Italian Giuseppe Cirò and Venezuelan Gaetano Ardagna Perez. They will be fielding cars in both the GTS2 and the GTS3 category. The driver line-up is currently being finalized. Team Owner Amato Ferrari: "Last year we couldn't run a full season due to several other commitments, but now we are ready to pick up where we left off. After winning the 2011 title we want to stay in the hunt since the start. We really like the new format, and being part of the GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES is wonderful in terms of promotion and visibility, also because of their interesting 2013 calendar; thanks to Maurizio Flammini and his organization. We are working to line-up with two different types of cars, the Ferrari 458 Italia GTS2 and GTS3. The GTSPRINT program was definitely a great choice to complement the endurance races of Dubai, Daytona, the World Endurance Championship and the Blancpain Series."
